I started this week with a post entitled, “Mindful Monday – Expect the Unexpected,” because a tumultuous week had me thinking about change and broken plans. Just yesterday, I discovered this cancer poem again on a handout I got during my early diagnostic days. For those of us who have experienced many changes in our lives due to cancer, it’s important to be reminded of what cancer cannot change:
WHAT CANCER CANNOT DO
It cannot cripple Love
It cannot shatter Hope
It cannot corrode Faith
It cannot destroy Peace
It cannot kill Friendship
It cannot suppress Memories
It cannot silence Courage
It cannot invade the Soul
It cannot steal Eternal Life
It cannot conquer the Spirit.
